Patna: BJP President Amit Shah today questioned Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's claim of giving good governance with the help of associates RJD and Congress whose track record has been of "corruption and inefficiency".
"Nitish Kumar is claiming to provide good governance in the state but can it be believed seeing the track record of his allies RJD and Congress which are full of corruption and inefficiency," Mr Shah said while addressing a function organized by a prominent Hindi newspaper.
"The 15-year rule of RJD in Bihar (was) full of crime and corruption and 10-year rule of Congress-led UPA at the Centre marked with 2G, coal scam and Commonwealth game scam...being in league with these parties, on what basis you are weaving dream of good governance in Bihar?" Mr Shah said in a scathing attack at Mr Kumar.
The BJP chief slammed the Bihar Chief Minister for "hurting" great socialist leaders like Jayprakash Narayan and Karpoori Thakur by making attendance at the house of Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
He said Bihar has dominated the scene at the national level in last 700 years and post-Independence given visionary leaders like Rajendra Prasad, Loknayak Jayprakash Narayan, Jagjivan Ram and Karpoori Thakur.
"But, in the last 25 years of rule in Bihar, 15 of RJD and 10 of Nitish Kumar have changed this healthy trend and left Bihar at the bottom of development," he said.
Mr Shah was particularly harsh on Lalu Prasad and said "trailor of the jungle raj was shown during RJD bandh (on caste report issue on July 27)."
On the other hand, BJP-ruled states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Goa have shown what development meant.
"I urge the youth of Bihar to visit these states and see for themselves what development is all about," he said and exhorted people to vote for BJP-led coalition in Bihar for similar results.
