New Delhi: Going ahead with its Assembly polls preparations, Delhi BJP will organise 90 nukkad jansabhas (street meetings) on Monday in which Union minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti will address gatherings.

The meetings will be held in east Delhi's Trilokpuri and New Ashok Nagar areas.

Apart from Ms Sadhvi, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Maneka Gandhi, Najma Hepatullah, Satyanarain Jatia and Thawar Chand Gehlot are other top leaders who would address these street meetings.

"This week will see a big show of around 350 BJP's nukkad jansabhas in all corners of Delhi with even senior ministers going to these corner meetings," Delhi BJP said in a statement. Apart from ministers, actor-turned-MPs Kirron Kher and Paresh Rawal would also take part in these meetings.

Party sources said that Ms Sadhvi's episode was now over and the leader would go among the people and apprise them about the work done by the Narendra Modi government.

Sadhvi Niranjan, a Minister of State for Food Processing, on November 30, had made controversial remarks that armed the opposition to an extent that the Rajya Sabha stayed paralyzed for most of the week.

She expressed "deep regret" and apologised for her actions but the Opposition has been disrupting Parliament proceedings demanding her sacking.

Despite intervention by the prime minister in the two houses, the Opposition lowered its demands but kept exercising the disruption option.

On Sunday, Parliamentary Affairs minister Venkaiah Naidu issued an appeal to the opposition to let normalcy return, but the news that Ms Sadhvi would be back to campaign in Delhi will not go down well with the BJP's opponents who want a censure motion on the issue.
