Chandigarh:
The BJP will hold a two-day national conclave on June 5-6 in Mumbai to discuss strategies for better governance in states ruled by the party.
Describing it as the first of its kind exercise by any political party, BJP's national General Secretary Jagat Prakash Nadda said Chief Ministers and ministers of states where the party is in power or part of a ruling alliance would participate in the conclave.
BJP President Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate the conclave and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will deliver the keynote address. Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and Rajya Sabha MP Arun Jaitely will also address the conclave, he said.
A charter of Good Governance will also be drafted and adopted at the convention, Nadda said.
Chief Ministers of six BJP-ruled states like Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Chhatisgarh and other ministers have confirmed their participation in the convention, he said.
Nadda said the two-day conclave would deliberate on several core issues including education, employment, health, and agriculture.
"It will be an interactive session in which ministers will discuss and share their experiences and throw light on success of implementing unique and innovative activities in their respective states which can be replicated in other states as well. It will also discuss whether party manifesto is implemented if not what then are the difficulties in implementing the same," he said.
Asked about the recent spat between two BJP leaders in the state including Punjab Health Minister Laxmikanta Chawla and party MLA Jagdish Sahni, Nadda said the party was seized of the matter which will figure at the upcoming conclave.
The committee appointed by the party to look into the issue would take action in this regard, he added.
