New Delhi:
BJP on Friday formed a four member fact-finding committee to visit Kerala to look into the recent incident in which the hand of a school teacher was chopped by some religious fanatics for setting an exam question that allegedly insulted Muslims.
BJP President Nitin Gadkari named MP and former Minister Harin Pathak, senior Supreme Court advocate Pinki Anand, Goa party unit vice-president Wilfred Misquita, and Balasubramanium Kamarasu as members of the team.
"This committee will visit Kerala on July 9 and 10 and later submit its report to the party president," BJP said in a statement.
T J Joseph, 52, had his right arm severed at the wrist when he was returning home from church with his mother and sister on July 4. He underwent an operation to have the limb sown back on.
Joseph, a lecturer at a college run by Christians, was arrested in April over a question in the internal exams which allegedly made an insulting reference to Prophet Mohammad.
Two men have been arrested in the case. A gang of eight had attacked him, according to local police.
