BJP to organise public rallies at 55 venues in Gujarat on Sunday

Ahmedabad: The BJP will organise election rallies at 55 venues across Saurashtra and South Gujarat on Sunday to be addressed by its senior leaders, party sources said in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

BJP Rajya Sabha MP Arun Jaitley, former UP chief minister Rajnath Singh, senior leader Venkaiah Naidu, BJP national vice-president Purshottam Rupala, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Jharkhand chief minister Arjun Munda will be among those who would address rallies on Sunday, they said.

Jaitley, the leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha, will address rallies in two Assembly constituencies in Jamnagar district while Rajnath Singh will address three public rallies in Bhavnagar Rural, Bhavnagar East and Bhavnagar West.

State fisheries minister Parshottam Solanki, who is facing charges in Rs 400 crore fisheries scam, is pitted against Congress leader Shaktisinh Gohil in Bhavnagar Rural assembly constituency.

Veteran leader Venkaiah Naidu will address public in Jambusar, Ankleshwar and Bharuch in Bharuch district in South Gujarat.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan will address rallies in Olpad, Karanj and Majura in Surat while Jharkhand chief minister Arjun Munda will hold a public rally in Gandevi, a reserved constituency for Scheduled Tribe (ST), in Navsari.

BJP national vice-president Purshottam Rupala will address rallies in Surat East, Surat North and Varachha Road assembly constituencies.
