Blistering heat wave conditions today affected normal life in Rajasthan with Barmer recording a maximum temperature of 47.2 degree Celsius.
Due to dry weather conditions, mercury has risen by one to three degrees Celsius in all parts of the state, MeT officials said.
Barring a very few places, the maximum temperature every where was above 44 degree Celsius, the official said.
Places in western Rajasthan specially Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bikaner, Churu and Jodhpur were in the grip of severe sweltering conditions where the maximum temperature was 45 to 46.6 degree Celsius.
Jaipur recorded the season's hottest temperature of 44.1 degree C affecting normal life especially of those living on pavements and slums.
There would be no respite from hot summer in the next 24 hours in the state, a forecast said.
