Blood money for J Dey's murder paid in Chandni Chowk

Blood money for J Dey's murder paid in Chandni Chowk
Mumbai: The ongoing police investigation into the murder case of journalist J Dey on Wednesday revealed that part of the plot to kill him might have been hatched in the Capital.

A source said the money paid to shooter Satish Kalia and his men to kill Dey was handed over in Delhi's Chandni Chowk area. Also, the fire arms used to shoot Dey was procured in Haldwani in Uttarakhand and was sent to Mumbai via Delhi.

Satish Kalia and the other men involved in Dey's murder went to Haldwani from Delhi to procure the weapon. According to sources, they went back to Delhi first to gather more information about their target and then returned to Mumbai.

It took the gang a few weeks and a lot of planning in Mumbai to locate their target, observe his timings and his daily schedule.

Following the emergence of this piece of information, doubts have been raised on the Mumbai Police's theory, as to why Kalia and the others had to go a long way to Uttarakhand to procure their weapon and not from a nearby source.

Dey was killed in broad daylight on the streets of Powai in Mumbai on June 11.
