New Delhi:
CBSE Class 10 board exams will be optional from next year and a grading system will be put in place.
HRD Minister Kapil Sibal's slew of educational reforms will have a big bearing on students across the country.
The Central Advisory Board of Education on Monday approved Sibal's idea of making Class 10 board exams optional, implementing the grading system which discourages competition among students on the basis of marks alone and having an independent collegium to appoint Vice Chancellors to all central universities.
But it doesn't seem that Sibal's reforms will go unopposed. Many states have opposed it including some Congress-ruled states.
