Bob Christo passes away
Bangalore: Bollywood actor Bob Christo, the man who played the "gora" henchman in films of the eighties and nineties, including Amitabh Bachchan's " Namak Halal" and " Agneepath", passed away in Bangalore on Sunday afternoon.

The 70-year-old actor, of Australian origin, died of a cardiac rupture, at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, sources in the hospital told PTI.

Christo was admitted to the hospital yesterday after he complained of chest pain, and it turned out that he had a heart attack. The doctors performed angioplasty but his condition continued to be critical. One of the arteries even had a 90 per cent block.

Sources said the actor, known for his bald look, was working on his biography.

He got his first break, as a villain, in a Hindi movie the Sanjay Khan-directed, "Abdullah" in 1980.

Since then, he has appeared in over 200 movies, including "Qurbani", "Sarfarosh", "Kismat", "Gumrah", "Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja", "Agneepath" and "Mr India" , released in the 1980s and 90s.

He had made Bangalore his home for the past several years. Christo was said to be inactive from the Hindi movie industry for the last eight years.

Farah Ali Khan tweeted, "Recd some sad news today. Actor Bob Christo who worked in my dad's film Abdullah passed away in Bangalore 2day."
