Students of a school in Delhi were evacuated after it received a bomb threat via email today, the police said.
Officials said the Amrita School in Delhi's Pushp Vihar received the threat mail at around 6.35 am, after which the administration informed the police.
Along with police, bomb squad officials were rushed to the spot and the school building was thoroughly searched, officials said. However, no suspicious object was found during the search.
"The school has been thoroughly checked by the Bomb Disposal Team and nothing has been found," said Chandan Chowdhary, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Delhi.
This comes a fortnight after 'The Delhi Public School' (DPS) in Mathura Road had received a threat mail claiming that a bomb had been planted on its premises, following which police had evacuated and sanitised the school.
Police during its investigation found that the email id from which the threat was received, was linked to the minor student of DPS. The student, during a counselling session, told police that he had planned the prank "just for fun".
A similar incident was reported at the 'The Indian School' last month. The school was evacuated as the bomb squad and other agencies inspected the premises for any explosive substance. The threat mail was later declared a hoax.
