Patna:
Eight people, including seven children, were killed and 12 others injured in Pachockhar village in Bihar's Aurangabad district in a bomb explosion on Sunday morning.
Reports suggest that the bomb, planted by Maoists, was taken out by security forces during elections on Saturday. It was not defused and was left on the road side.
However, police left the bomb in a field for follow up action to defuse it.
"People were told, and local chowkidars were deputed there. Yet, kids fiddled with it and that is when the bomb went off," said PK Thakur, ADG.
We don't know what device was in the bomb, it will be subsequently found out, he added.
Bihar government has now ordered an inquiry into the incident.
