Asia's oldest stock exchange BSE will get its own postage stamp, Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said today.
"In acceding to your request to have postal stamp, I am feeling happy, as it is the official recognition of the work you are doing," Mr Prasad said at an event to launch Bombay Stock Exchange's free wi-fi services.
The BSE had recently become the world's fastest stock exchange clocking a median trade speed of six micro seconds.
It has also cemented its position among the largest exchanges of the world in terms of total market capitalization of listed firms, after hitting a milestone of Rs 100 lakh crore.
The bourse has 3 crore registered investors.
