New Delhi: The Delhi Police has been searching for a man on a motorcycle who planted a bomb at a traffic signal on a car belonging to the Israeli Embassy. The explosion destroyed the car on Monday just a few feet from the Prime Minister's house. Israel has accused Iran of commissioning the attack. Four people were injured, including an Israeli diplomat's wife who was in the SUV.

Here are five big developments in the story:

1) Investigations suggest that the bomber hired may be of Indian origin. Sources have told NDTV that the drill rehearsed before it was implemented; and that the idea was to kill anyone from the Israeli embassy. The diplomat's wife, who is in hospital with spinal injuries, was not the specific target.

2) Traces of potassium, chlorate and nitrate have been found from the blast site. Sources say that small quantity of explosive was used. Despite the explosion, the metal of vehicle wasn't ripped out; rather it was just dented. Investigators believe the magnet was to be stuck on the window of the rear seat, rather than the body of the car.

3) A team of Delhi Police's special cell met officials of Israeli embassy today to discuss the case and exchange notes. Israeli Ambassador Alon Usphiz is also expected to meet External Affairs Minister S M Krishna in the evening today to discuss the progress in the investigations.

4) A red motorcycle has been located in Lado Sarai; police believe this may be the bike used by the man who planted the bomb.

5) CCTV footage from security cameras installed at some of the posh houses in the Aurangzeb Road area has reportedly not provided any major clues.
