New Delhi:
The National Anti-Doping Agency or NADA is likely to release its report today on boxer
Vijender Singh's blood and urine samples.
Vijender, who has been accused of consuming heroin, submitted his blood and urine samples last week to the agency.
However, the blood and urine tests may not help in ascertaining if the boxer consumed heroin as the drug does not last in the bloodstream for more than 12 hours and in the urine for more than three days.
Only Vijender's hair sample can now prove whether he took heroin, since traces of the drug can be found in the hair for upto three months. But NADA says they don't have the facility to test hair samples.
Vijender's sparring partner Ram Singh had said that the boxers bought heroin from Anoop Singh Kahlon, an alleged dealer who was arrested last month in Punjab. Drugs worth Rs 130 crore were found in his home. Vijender's wife's car was parked outside.
The Punjab Police had said that Vijender, an Olympic bronze-medallist boxer, took heroin 12 times, but did not explain how it had concluded this.
Vijender has strongly denied any link to the drug dealer and has slammed as "ridiculous" the allegations against him.
