Bravery Award Winner Alleges Rape By Husband, 3 Others

Azamgarh: A 28-year-old bravery award winner alleged that she was gangraped by husband and three others on Friday in Kaptanganj village, police said.

The victim, who was awarded state government's Rani Lakshmi Bai bravery award last year was allegedly raped by her husband and three others, Dayanand Mishra, Superintendent of Police said.

The woman was living with her parents for the past two-three years and on Friday her husband called her for a meeting in an orchard where she was allegedly raped by him and three others.

The victim has been sent for medical examination and the matter is being investigated, police said.
