"I am not in favour of violence or goondaism but I also don't want you people (TMC workers) to behave as dead soldiers," Subrata Mukherjee said.
Kolkata:
Senior Trinamool Congress leader and minister Subrata Mukherjee today courted controversy by threatening that if any party activist is attacked by CPI(M) workers, TMC activists will break their bones.
"If any TMC worker is attacked by CPI(M) workers without any reason, then we will break the bones of CPI(M) workers. I am not in favour of violence or goondaism but I also don't want you people (TMC workers) to behave as dead soldiers," Mr Mukherjee said while addressing a party meeting.
Later, when questioned by reporters on his comment, Mr Mukherjee said, "Politics is not 'dharma charcha'. If someone hits our workers and if you don't react, it will demoralize lakhs of our workers".
