Panaji: British nationals top a list of foreigners having businesses in Goa with Germans coming second, says a report.
The status report tabled on the floor of Goa legislative assembly on Tuesday revealed that 85 foreigners are doing the businesses in Goa, some as early as 10 years.
In all, foreigners from 21 nations are on a business visa in the state, known more as a tourist destination which attracts 4 lakh international guests every year.
The tabulated details tabled by Home Minister Ravi Naik reveals that 33 Britishers are having their businesses in this coastal state.
Germans are second highest in number to have their businesses in this state. In all nine Germans are trading here.
Interestingly, eight Portuguese nationals have set up their business in this state which was their colony till 1961.
The report tabled on the floor of the house indicate that the citizens of Belgium, Sweden, Portugal, Netherlands, Russian, Israel, America, Italy, France, Holland, Germany, British, Greece, Japan, Dutch, Japan, Australia, China, Switzerland, South Africa and Georgia are having their business here.
