Baramulla: On the eve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's bilateral talks with his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan violated ceasefire again at the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir, in which a BSF jawan was killed.
Sniper fire from Pakistan took place at along the Line of Control, at the Karam Post of Baramulla sector, where the jawan was on guard duty. He was shot through the eye, sources said.
This was the third time Pakistan violated ceasefire this week.
On Tuesday, a BSF jawan had been injured when Pakistan had targeted army posts in Poonch. On Monday, Pakistan had carried on night-long firing and mortar shelling, targeting six posts in Jammu district.
Today, the External Affairs ministry confirmed that the bilateral talks between the two leaders will be held tomorrow at Russia's Ufa on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meet.
Sources have indicated that PM Modi will strongly raise India's concerns on terror and all the outstanding issues with Pakistan.
PM Modi and Mr Sharif had last met in Kathmandu in November but they did not have a proper bilateral meeting.
