New Delhi:
A day after an image of Rahul Gandhi -- suggesting his intermediate dozing off in the Parliament -- went viral, the Vice President of Congress today had a front row seat for the first Union Budget of the NDA government, presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain, who had tweeted the photograph yesterday, observed, "Rahul Gandhi was seen sleeping in Parliament during a debate on price rise. That's what the Congress was doing during their 10-year rule".
Mr Gandhi, who has been among the backbenchers for some time, was reportedly asked to sit in the front row of the Opposition benches by his mother and Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
When the Congress Vice-President went to his mother during the five-minute break which Mr Jaitley took in between presenting the budget, he was told by Mrs Gandhi to sit by her side.
Mr Gandhi seemed reluctant initially but soon relented. He was later seen taking notes and talking to Mrs Gandhi and Congress's Leader in Lok Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge.
