Several people are feared trapped after a three-storey building collapsed in Gurugram's Khawaspur village this evening. Rescue and relief operation teams are present on the spot, officials said.
The structure was located on the premises of the 'Cargo Deluxe Company', and served as a residence for its employees, they said.
"Five to six people are likely to be trapped under the rubble, according to the information provided by the guards here. Fire brigade and police department present at the spot and are undertaking the rescue operation," said Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajiv Deswal.
The police said one person was pulled out from the rubble during the rescue operation.
Khawaspur village is situated on Pataudi road in Farrukhnagar Tehsil of Gurugram.
Pataudi MLA Satya Prakash Jarawata, SDM Pradeep Kumar, including fire brigade and ambulance and all administrative staff are present on the spot. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team has also reached the spot.
Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Yash Garg said that as soon as the incident came to light, teams were immediately dispatched to the spot for relief and rescue work. Ambulances and doctors are on the spot. Relief and rescue operations are being carried out, he said.
