Mumbai: Several school children are feared dead in a bus accident in Maharashtra's Buldhana district.
The state transport bus they were travelling in fell off a bridge into the Purna river. The bodies of the driver and the helper, along with some of the children, are among the 17 bodies recovered from the river. A teenage girl died on the way to the hospital, taking the death toll in the accident to 18.
The injured are being treated at a government hospital in Akola.
At least 55 people were travelling in the bus at the time of the accident, sources in the Maharashtra State Transport Corporation said.
