Buta and son's case: How did it unfold?

Buta and son's case: How did it unfold?
New Delhi:

Sarobjit Singh, the son of National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Chairman Buta Singh, was on Friday arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau of the CBI for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs one crore from a contractor to close a case in the Commission.

But how did the trail of bribery and corruption lead to Buta Singh and his son?

It started when Ramarao Patil, who supplies garbage truck, was accused of cheating garbage workers in Nasik by taking loans on their behalf.

The workers complained to a Congressman Anup Deghe, who took them to Buta Singh
on July 10. Ramrao Patil received a call that he should come to Buta Singh's home in Delhi.

On July 16, Ramrao Patil met Buta Singh's son at the former Congress leader's home in Delhi. Accused Beghe claims Buta Singh was also present at this meeting.

Sweetie allegedly threatened to slap a case against Ramrao Patil under the SC/ST act unless he pays Rs 3 crore. He finally agrees to pay Rs 1 crore.

On July 27 Patil told Sweetie that he has arranged the money and at the same time complained to the CBI.

Sweetie asked Patil to give the money to Anup Beghe and asked Beghe to give the money to his man at the Mumbai Central station. The CBI laid a trap here.

On July 28, the CBI arrested Beghe and two others at the Mumbai central station. They led the CBI to Sweetie.
