Mumbai: C.V. Rao was on Saturday sworn in as governor of Maharashtra at a function in Raj Bhavan in Mumbai.
Bombay High Court Chief Justice Mohit Shah administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mr Rao, a senior BJP leader from Telangana.
Mr Rao took over from Gujarat Governor O.P. Kohli, who was given additional charge of Maharashtra after K. Sankaranarayanan resigned from the post on Sunday.
Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, his cabinet colleagues and other prominent dignitaries attended the function.
