Cabinet Clears Ordinance on Land Acquisition, Says Arun Jaitley: Highlights

New Delhi: The Cabinet today cleared ordinances including one on land acquisition. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley addressed the media in New Delhi. Here are the highlights:

• I will refer to two important decisions taken by the Cabinet today
  
• First one - regularisation of unauthorised colonies in Delhi
  
• The cut off date for the regularisation which was 31 March 2002, has been extended to 1st June 2014
  
• 895 colonies will be benefited from this and a population of 7 lakh will be benefited
  
• Second one - Land acquisitio, rehabilitation and resettlement
  
• Ordinance on Delhi regularisation to benefit 60 lakh people
• Compensation package in land acquisition untouched
