New Delhi: The Cabinet reshuffle, that was widely expected this week, has been postponed and will now most likely take place in the middle of October, sources have told NDTV.
Sources had earlier told NDTV that the reshuffle is likely to see a change in the top four ministries - Home, Finance, Defence and External Affairs. It is not clear yet which one it will be. Of the four, two have seen recent changes, with P Chidambaram moving to Finance and Sushil Kumar Shinde to Home.
Several key portfolios in the Union Cabinet have been lying vacant since Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress, which has 19 MPs in the Lok Sabha, pulled out of the UPA last week. Ms Banerjee's six ministers hand-delivered their resignation letters to the PM, before setting out to meet the President and formally ending their party's partnership with the Congress-led government.
