Cabinet reshuffle on Sunday, what next for Rahul Gandhi?
New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi is set to play a "larger role" in the affairs of the Congress party as well as the government very soon.

It is, however, still not clear whether Mr Gandhi will join the government, but there are clear indications that a number of young faces from his team will be inducted into the Union Council of Ministers in the cabinet reshuffle likely on Sunday.

There has been talk that Mr Gandhi, a Congress general secretary, could be made either the Working President in the party or Vice President amid demands for a "larger role" for him from a large number of party leaders in the past.

As the Cabinet reshuffle nears, there has been renewed speculation on Mr Gandhi's possibility of joining the Council of Ministers. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has, in the past, expressed his desire to see the young Congress leader join the Cabinet.

Party general secretary Digvijaya Singh had, however, said Mr Gandhi may prefer to do party work.

Sources close to Mr Gandhi have also been maintaining that the latter is more keen to work for the party right now rather than joining the government.
