New Delhi: An NDTV report that preparation for Commonwealth Games is behind schedule has created a big controversy. Reacting to this Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday told NDTV that the CAG report on Commonwealth Games preparations is six to seven months old.

However, the Delhi Chief Minister did not rule out differences between the Indian Olympic Association and Commonwealth Games Federation, saying that the IOA and the federation chief need to sort out their differences.

Dikshit further said that the Delhi government does not have information about the issue between IOA and Commonwealth Games federation.

"We are not privy to what's between IOA and Commonwealth. The organising committee has not approached us," said Dikshit, adding, "The organising committee will address Fennel's charges."

Talking about the intervention of the Prime Minister sought by the Games federation chief on Sunday, the Delhi Chief Minister said, "The Prime Minister is very keen to see that Games come through very smoothly."

"The Games are not just Delhi's pride but India's pride too. This is a big event and we are nervous," said Dikshit.

She said that the Delhi government is also hopeful of handling the tourists during the Games.

Earlier, NDTV discovered a report prepared by the CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General of India), which warned that Delhi is behind schedule on several fronts. The report said 14 venues and practice areas may not be ready.

Based on that NDTV report, Commonwealth Games Federation President Michael Fennell announced that he was going to write to the prime minister to express his concern about Delhi's ability to meet international standards as host of the Games.
