MPs from coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema regions say they have an assurance from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that he will hold discussions with his Cabinet colleagues and try to find a solution to the Telangana issue by Tuesday.

Andhra Pradesh, which had been on the boil for days before the Centre's announcement with violent protests to demand a separate Telangana state, has seen equal unrest after. Now, politicians and citizens are up in arms against the move to divide the state.
