Solapur: Nearly 4000 resident doctors from various hospitals across Maharashtra have threatened to go on an indefinite mass leave after CCTV footage from a hospital in Solapur showed a junior doctor being assaulted by two policemen.
The CCTV video retrieved from Dr VM Government Medical College shows two policemen slapping and thrashing the junior doctor.
The cops reportedly accused the doctor of being "uncooperative" and have alleged that he did not show any urgency when they asked him to help a pregnant woman.
In his defence, the doctor, a surgery student, has said that he had merely told the cops that the gynecology department was better equipped to help the woman.
