Guwahati: As Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined his vision for India's police force today, at the conference of director generals of police in Guwahati, the chief of India's premier investigation agency didn't seem to be listening.
Television cameras caught Central Bureau of Investigation or CBI chief Ranjit Sinha apparently dozing off, while the PM talked about the need for security personnel to stay alert and accountable.
The conference was attended by top cops from across India, as well as chiefs of intelligence and security agencies.
It was a case of deja vu for Mr Sinha, who appeared to be taking a quick nap yesterday as well, during Home Minister Rajnath Singh's speech at the conference.
Mr Singh was telling the high-profile audience that even retired government officials, with their vast experience, can contribute towards ensuring India's security.
But the CBI chief, who is set to retire in another two days, seemed to have missed the point.
