New Delhi:

Ending the anxious wait of over 637,000 class 12 students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the results of Delhi, Guwahati and Allahabad zones.

Eighty-one per cent students have cleared the exam. Girls have performed better than boys. Their pass percentage is  85.94 against 77.40 of the boys.

The board exam results have been uploaded on the CBSE website www.cbse.nic.in. The results of Ajmer, Chennai and Panchkula regions were declared on Wednesday.

This year, 637,578 students - 264,248 female candidates and 373,330 male candidates - took the class 12 board exams in the country and abroad.

On Thursday, most of the students were keeping their fingers crossed.

Sakshi Handa, a class 12 student of Bal Bharti Public School in Delhi, said: "I have been keeping a fast every Tuesday ever since the board exams got over. I am very nervous about my result as two of my papers did not go well. I am just keeping my fingers crossed and hope that I score at least equal to what I scored in class tenth."

Yashita Arora, another student, said: "I am very tense, really nervous but I hope for the best. I am expecting above 75, but since the commerce papers were a little tricky this year, especially accountancy, I think the cut off could be a little lower than last year. At least, I hope it is lower than last year.

"I am listening to music to beat nervousness but every now and then it hits me that I have my results Friday. My parents also try to calm me down every now and then but even they are very tense," she added.

Today, the students can get the results on their e-mail addresses by registering themselves on websites - www.results.nic.in and www.cbseresults.nic.in.

The schools can also get their entire results by registering on these websites and giving their school code and e-mail address, said Sharma.

The individual results can also be checked on the websites - mtnldelhi.in. Click here to know your results mtnldelhi.in

The CBSE would also be providing the results through Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) on MTNL telephone number - (011) 28127030.

Various mobile phone operators will also provide results over phone and through short message service (SMS).

The CBSE has also launched telephonic counseling to help students overcome anxiety and stress after the board results. (With PTI inputs)
