New Delhi: The usually staid and quiet school administrative offices on Monday reverberated with squeals of delight and laughter and congratulatory remarks as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced its Class 12 examinations results.

Initial disbelief gave way to euphoria and celebrations as several students appearing in the Class 12 exams found that they had topped in their school after the results were declared on Monday.

Kshitij Jain, who topped the Delhi Public School (DPS), RK Puram, securing 98 per cent in the science stream, said: "I expected about 94-95 per cent, but what I have got is like a dream come true."

He has also bagged a good rank in IIT-JEE and aims to go to IIT- Delhi.

"He has always been a bright student, and he really worked hard. We were happy when we got to know that he had cleared the IIT result with flying colours, but today we are the happiest. What more could we ask for? He has topped the Delhi region," said Kshitij's mother.
