New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to create a cadre of master trainers for running in-service training programmes for teachers at its affiliated schools to improve teaching standards.
"Continuous professional development of in-service teachers plays a pivotal role in school education and development of a country, thus it is among the priorities of CBSE," said DT Sudharshan Rao, Joint Secretary and In-charge (Academics and Training).
"In this regard, CBSE is inviting experienced principals, vice principals and senior teachers to become Master Trainers and Trainers to conduct in-service training programmes for teachers throughout the country," Mr Rao said.
Candidates interested in becoming a Master Trainer or Trainer for in-service programmes who possess the requisite qualities will apply online till July 3, he said.
The Board is committed to training programmes for teachers and heads of affiliated schools to enhance their understanding of curriculum, delivery mechanism and other professional qualities. A three-tier "Cascade Model" has been adopted for imparting in-service training to teachers of affiliated schools.
The Cascade model is especially useful when the number of trainees is large as it is also cost effective and flexible.
The three-tier model adopted by CBSE works at national, regional and school level.
