Jammu:
A day after a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was killed in an exchange of fire with Pakistani troops in Jammu, Pak rangers fired again on Sunday morning.
They fired from Amravali post at the Nicowal Post of the BSF and the firing continued for almost 45 minutes.
The BSF has called it a major ceasefire violation and has requested for a flag meeting.
On Saturday, a senior BSF official Pakistani snipers fired on a patrolling party of BSF along the international border in Budhwar area of Suchetgarh sub-sector, 45km from Jammu. BSF jawans guarding the border retaliated, triggering an exchange of fire for about 15 minutes in which one BSF jawan identified as Jai Kishan of 193 batallion was killed.
There have already been over four incidents of firing by Pakistani troops along the Indo-Pak border in less than a month. Earlier on May 5, there was a ceasefire violation when Pakistani troops had fired rockets on Indian position and opened indiscriminate firing along the Line of Control in Poonch district.
Two more such incidents took place along the LOC in Poonch. (With PTI Inputs)
