There are reports of firing from the Pakistani side at the Samba sector of Jammu on Saturday night.
The Border security Force is reported to have retaliated.
The firing lasted for half an hour and about 200 to 300 rounds were fired from the Pakistani side.
It's not clear whether the firing was a cover for an infiltration bid.
This happened in the same area at the international border where a DIG of the BSF was killed in a landmine blast last month.
