Srinagar: One jawan of the Border Security Force (BSF) has been injured in ceasefire violation in Jammu and Kashmir's RS Pora sector.
Four forward posts of the BSF have been targeted; the firing is on from both the sides in Jammu and Kashmir and is spread in an area of around two kilometres.
This is the third ceasefire violation within a week in Jammu and Kashmir. On Monday, two jawans were injured when Pakistani troops fired on a BSF post in the Hiranagar sector in Jammu. They had targeted an ambush post of the BSF with rockets and small arms.
Barely 24 hours before that, Pakistani Rangers had resorted to unprovoked firing at a BSF post in RS Pura sector.
The firing comes close on the heels of the detection of 400-metre long Pakistani tunnel in the state's Samba sector on July 28 and the subsequent lodging of a strong protest over the issue by India on July 31. BSF sources say the ceasefire violation by the Pakistani Rangers is an unprovoked jittery reaction to the detection of the tunnel.
