Surajpur, Chhattisgarh: For 10 excruciating minutes, the man can be seen being pounded by a bear. The chilling video was filmed late last month on a cell phone in Chhattisgarh by a villager and has surfaced on local media today.
The video is not being used by NDTV because of its very graphic content.
The man who was attacked was a forest guard identified as KP Singh in the Surajpur district in the northern part of the state.
A few days before the deadly assault, the female bear had entered a village and killed one person. The Forest Department then teamed up with other villagers to chase the bear away. During that attempt, the bear caught hold of the guard and pounded him to death.
Eventually, the bear was killed by the police and forest department the same day.
