Centre wants J&K govt to reactivate civil administration: Sources
New Delhi: Taking serious note of unrelenting protests in Jammu and Kashmir for the last two months, the Centre has reportedly asked J&K government to go beyond focussing on curbing violence, sources have told NDTV.

The Centre has conveyed to the J&K government that it needs to reactivate the civil administration, sources said. It asked the state to bring in senior civil servants from outside if needed.

The Centre has also asked the state government to facilitate points of contact for people to vent their grievances. And it wants the state government to look beyond Srinagar and other towns and focus on rural areas too.

In the incessant protests in the valley in the last two months over 50 people, mostly teenagers, have been killed.
