Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who tweeted on Monday that he had sent Prime Minister Narendra Modi a mirror as a “gift”, so he could look into it and see his "real face”, had an update to this morning.
He claimed that the package was "delivered today" to PM Modi's residence in Delhi. He even shared a screenshot of the "delivery" message, with the address of PM Modi's 1, Lok Kalyan Marg residence.
On April Fool's Day, Bhupesh Baghel went through elaborate lengths for his joke, including mimicking an online purchase on April 1, complete with the order number (402-3041608-7422739) and PM Modi's "shipping address".
"I am sending you this mirror as a gift. You keep this mirror at such a place in your residence on Lok Kalyan Marg from where you pass most of the time so that you can try to identify your real face by looking into this mirror again and again," the Congress leader had said in his tweet in Hindi. "You may not use this mirror and throw it in a dust bin of the PM's residence. But you cannot escape from looking into the mirror. The country's 125 crore population is going to show you the mirror in this election...Are you ready Modiji?" Mr Baghel said in another tweet using hashtag #ModiVsModi.
This morning, he tweeted the "delivery" note and wrote, "Thank you Modi ji".
"I want to send you this mirror as a gift. Keep this mirror in your Lok Kalyan Marg residence at a place that you constantly pass through. So that you can see your face all the time and try to recognize your real face," Mr Baghel said in a tweet.
Mr Baghel, 57, became Chief Minister in December after the Congress won the Chhattisgarh election, ousting Raman Singh's 15-year BJP government in the state.
