Chidambaram meets Rehman Malik in Thimphu
Thimphu: Home Minister P Chidambaram met Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik on the sidelines of the 4th SAARC Summit in Thimphu on Saturday. A joint statement was also released after the meeting - the second one-on-one between the ministers of the two countries since the 26/11 attacks.

The statement said the meeting was held in a "cordial atmosphere". During the meeting, India again sought voice samples of suspected handlers of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Pakistan, on the other, has sought more clarifications. (Read: Read full text of India-Pak joint statement at Thimphu)

According to the statement, the Interior Minister of Pakistan affirmed that his Ministry was working towards an early visit of a Judicial Commission (on 26/11 probe) from Pakistan to India - this was agreed upon last year during the Home Secretary's meeting. He also expressed the hope that the visit would take place at an early date.

In response, the statement said, the Indian Home Minister reaffirmed that India was willing to receive such a visit. India would also send a team to Pakistan, as agreed during the last Home Secretaries' meeting in New Delhi.
