Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar today asked people in urban areas to come out and vote in large numbers to end the ills of what he called "urban voter apathy".
At a press conference to announce the dates for the Lok Sabha elections, Mr Kumar said there are people in urban areas who do not bother to cast their vote even if the booth is right outside their homes.
"If four-five officials can set up a booth, surely urban voters can also come out of their house and vote," Mr Kumar said.
