Chief Ministers Of BJP-Ruled States To Meet In Bhopal Tomorrow

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, his Maharashtra and Jharkhand counterparts will meet BJP vice president Vinay Sahastrabuddhe tomorrow to deliberate on the party's 'Garib Kalyan Agenda'.

The exercise is aimed at setting a few common welfare goals for the BJP-ruled states and identify schemes that could be given a special thrust.

Mr Chouhan, who was the convener of the meeting of BJP-ruled states held in New Delhi on August 27, alongwith Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das and Sahastrabuddhe would chart out the blueprint of 'Garib Kalyan Agenda' (poor's welfare agenda), which is aimed at the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, a party leader said.

At the August 27 meeting in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked the chief ministers of BJP-ruled states to work in "mission mode" to make their respective states a model for execution of his government's schemes.

A committee comprising Mr Chouhan, Mr Fadnavis, Mr Das and Mr Sahastrabuddhe was formed at the meeting to prepare the agenda.
