Congress leader Kapil Sibal said China backs Pakistan in giving shelter to terrorists (File)
New Delhi:
The Congress on Friday said Pakistan gives shelter to terrorists and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of not being able to convince China against backing Islamabad on terror-related issues.
"Everyone knows at the international level that Pakistan gives shelter to terrorists. But China backs them. The proposals that we want to pass in the Security Council doesn't get passed," said senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal.
"I had hoped that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Chinese President Xi Jinping, he could convince him on these issues. But he could not do so... don't know why," Sibal said.
India had slammed Pakistan at the UN for its support to terrorism, calling it "terroristan".
