Chiranjeevi elected leader of PRLP
Hyderabad:

Telugu megastar Konidela Chiranjeevi was on Monday formally elected as the leader of the
Praja Rajyam Legislature Party.

Praja Rajyam Party, floated nine months ago by the 53-year-old actor, won 18 seats in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections and emerged as the third largest group in the 294-member House.

The newly-elected MLAs of PRP met at party headquarters here today for two hours and elected Chiranjeevi as their leader.

Chiranjeevi told the MLAs that they would play the role of a constructive opposition in the Assembly and would not hesitate in taking up issues of public concern.

"Our criticism of the government and its programmes will be constructive. At the same time, we are also open to criticism or praise," he told his colleagues.
