Chennai:
In Andhra Pradesh, the one man who is giving sleepless nights to the Congress, Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Reddy is the rising political star Chiranjeevi.
The Telgu film star has box office hits like no other and now he hopes his Prajya Rajyam Party will do the same.
The undisputed mega star of the Telugu Film Industry with a reportoire of 140 films spanning all genres, the flamboyant action hero, the social crusader and above all, the groover, who can shake a leg like no other is now set for his new role in politics.
The crowds at his election rallies are just as hysterical as they are at the cinema theatre. But the question remains - will the sea of people translate into votes?
Chiru's party Praja Rajyam dismissed intially by skeptics is now set to play spoiler, especially for the Congress.
Chiranjeevi is himself from the influential Kapu community, a caste that has traditionally voted for the Congress. But now, Chiranjeevi has joined hands with the fourth front, a move designed to give both Chandrababu Naidu and YRS Reddy more than a few sleepless nights.
"I was looking at who to join in the national context. Then I thought why not the Fourth Front," said Chriu.
He has wooed Jaya Prada, Sri Devi and Vijay Shanti in his trademark figure hugging white pants. Now, its all about wooing the electorate.
