A CISF guard who was posted at a power grid centre in Jammu and Kashmir capital Srinagar died after terrorists attacked the guard post at the station early this morning.
Gunfire was reported and grenade was thrown at the power grid centre in Nowgam.
Rajesh Kumar, an Assistant Sub Inspector with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), died after he was reportedly hit by bullets on his head when terrorists attacked the guard post. Police and the Army unit from 50 Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF were alerted after the attack and were headed to the power grid centre.
The terrorists escaped from the location immediately after the attack.
The area was cordoned off after the attack.
This month, 10 security personnel including six army soldiers died in terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. In the last three days, 10 terrorists were killed by security forces.
