Srinagar: A CISF jawan was injured today as militants hurled a grenade at a polling booth in Tral constituency of Pulwama district, where polling is to be held on Tuesday.
The terrorists lobbed the grenade at higher secondary school, which has been designated as a polling station, at Noorpora in Tral area of south Kashmir, 35 km from Srinagar, a police officer said.
A CISF jawan on polling duty sustained minor injuries in the attack, he said.
No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
Tral is one of the 16 constituencies - spread over three Kashmir valley districts - going to the polls in the third phase of elections on December 9.
Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a series of militant attacks since the start of the polling process.
On December 5, the Valley was rocked by four terror attacks leaving 11 security personnel including a Lt Colonel dead along with two civilians.
