Tina Dabi from Delhi topped the UPSC or civil services exam on her first attempt.

Tina Dabi, the topper of civil services examination, and Jammu and Kashmir's Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan have been given the prestigious Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has allocated various services to 902 successful candidates. Of them, Delhi-based Tina, Khan and Jasmeet Singh Sandhu, also a Delhite, have been allocated the IAS, the DoPT said. While Tina topped the 2015 civil services examination, Khan and Sandhu secured second and third position respectively.
The civil services examination is conducted annually in three stages -- preliminary, main and interview -- to select candidates for IAS, Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.
1,078 candidates -- 499 in General category, 314 belonging to Other Backward Classes, 176 from Scheduled Castes and 89 from Scheduled Tribes -- had qualified in the test result of which was delcared on May 6. There are 172 candidates in the waiting list.
