Srinagar: A civilian died on Monday during an encounter between security forces and terrorists in South Kashmir's Kulgam district which began yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off about the presence of terrorists in Redwani Bala village of the district, a joint team of the police and the army launched a search operation on Sunday, police said.
The security forces were conducting the search operation, when the terrorists who were holed up inside a building opened fired on them, the police added.
The security forces retaliated. The exchange of fire went on till late on Sunday evening. Reports suggest that both terrorists have been killed.
