Mumbai:
A former Union Minister tried to influence the 26/11 trial for political mileage. That's the shocking disclosure made by Ujjwal Nikam, the public prosecutor handling the case.
"After the 26/11 attack, I was told to file 12 separate cases as there had been 12 separate crimes," Nikam said in a speech to college students in Maharashtra on Sunday, adding. "A verdict in the CST case would take a month and half, and that could be helpful in the upcoming Parliamentary elections. A union minister said this to me - not the current one, but the one earlier."
Nikam's comments were made in Latur, the constituency once represented by former Home Minister Shivraj Patil, who had to quit after 26/11.
